About SheRecs

SheRecs was founded by Ashley Foxworth to make women's lives easier by helping us connect around sourcing high-quality service providers for self, family, and home care. A former teacher and special education attorney who has spent many (she might say too many) years focused solely on momming her three kids, Ashley has always been excited by connecting with and helping others, even when time is scarce. Her deep value for community and connection inspired her to design SheRecs, which is built to simplify the search for trusted support, highlight businesses that the community trusts, and, just maybe, foster connection among users.

Though there are other ways to find the support we need–from apps to phoning a friend–SheRecs improves the process. It simplifies the search and amplifies the results by providing an efficient way for community members to source trusted recommendations (“Recs”) from and share Recs with our friends and, if desired, our neighbors and the wider SheRecs community. Though conceived and designed with women's needs in mind, SheRecs welcomes any adult user who could use–and share–a little help.

To that end, SheRecs makes it easy to find who the people you trust trust. SheRecs community members efficiently catalog recommendations in their personal RecLists. The RecList includes a thorough menu of self, family, and home care services and is nuanced to meet the specific and evolving needs of women across life stages. When you are searching for a particular service, any matching recs your friends have shared in their RecLists are immediately pulled. And if you have no friends with matching recs, you can see anonymized recs from neighbors and see if multiple neighbors echo the same recommendation.

Whether you're a college student new to town looking for a hair braider who works weekends, an expectant mother desperate to find a trustworthy night nurse, an elderly woman in need of a hand maintaining your home, or anyone in between, SheRecs–and your community here–can help you find the support you need.
