SheRecs User Agreement (Beta Version)

Welcome to SheRecs — where we are growing a community grounded in trust, sharing, reciprocity, connection, ease, and simplicity. We're here to make life easier by helping our community find and share trusted recommendations for themselves, their families, and their homes and to amplify the trusted, quality small businesses that our community shares here.

This is our beta version, which means we're still learning and improving — with your help. We are grateful for your participation now, which will help us evolve, and look forward to your feedback. By using SheRecs, you agree to these simple terms that keep our space safe, kind, and trustworthy.

1. Who We Are

SheRecs LLC ("SheRecs," "we," or "our") is a Washington, DC–based female-founded company that operates SheRecs.com as a platform for subscribers to source self, family, and home care service provider recommendations from friends, neighbors, and the wider SheRecs community.

2. Our Community Values

• Sharing — Each rec helps someone else, so share quality experiences generously.
• Reciprocity — We don't give to receive, but here we all benefit when we all share.
• Connection — We find our people & build community one recommendation at a time.
• Ease — Find simplified, trusted recs for all the services you're looking for in one place.

3. What SheRecs Is For

SheRecs gives you a place to:

• create your authentic profile with your real name, photo, and zipcode.
• share Recs by inputting them into your RecList — the list of service providers you would recommend, which, as a whole, is only visible to you
• source service provider Recs from your friends.
• engage with the SheRecs community

4. Who Can Join

You can join SheRecs if you:

• are 18 or older;
• use your real name, email (which isn't visible to friends), photo, and location (city, state, and zip code);
• contribute in the spirit of generosity and respect.

We may pause or remove accounts that threaten the safety, trust, or comfort of our community.

5. Privacy

We require only what's necessary — your name, photo, city, state, zip code, and email–and collect those along with the recs and optional profile information you choose to share. We will use your email to contact you and friends can search for you by your email, but we will not share your email with our other subscribers. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Your Recs will be shared individually with other subscribers in accordance with your privacy selections. But your RecList as a whole will never be visible to anyone else. Currently, we will not share the service provider contact info you provide in your Rec with anyone, including other subscribers. As we evolve, we intend to use that service provider contact information to reach out to the service providers, letting them know that you have recommended them on SheRecs and allowing them to opt-out of SheRecs or otherwise decide to what extent their information is shared on SheRecs.

By default, only your friends will see your name associated with your Recs. Searches in your zip code (neighbors) and searches by friends of friends may yield your blinded (without your name) Recs. Then those searchers may request permission from you to contact you for further information. On your profile, in your RecList, and in your privacy settings, you can choose to share certain Recs or all Recs more publicly or more broadly.

6. Sharing with Integrity

When you post a Rec, you're saying: "I've used this provider, trust them, and would recommend them to a dear friend."

That trust is the foundation of SheRecs. Please share only from personal experience and do not feel compelled to share service providers who you would not be proud to recommend to a dear friend or whom you believe would not want to be shared on our platform, though ultimately we will reach out to confirm their interest in being on SheRecs. We know no one's RecList will be full–we're all looking for something. So only post Recs that you're proud to share.

7. Respectful Community Conduct

We are growing this community, in hopes of making all of our lives a little easier, through trust, sharing, reciprocity, and connection. Kindness, honesty, and respectfulness must underlie our community.

By joining, you agree to:

• Share your honest, firsthand recommendations.
• Avoid harmful, discriminatory, or harassing content.
• Use SheRecs for genuine sharing — not for solicitation or spam.

We may remove posts or accounts that break these guidelines to preserve community trust.

8. Your Content

You own your RecList and every recommendation you post. You may remove Recs or your profile at any time. By sharing a Rec, you grant SheRecs permission to: 1, display it to your friends associated with your identity; 2, display it blindly to your neighbors & friends of friends; and 3, to eventually contact the service provider, letting them know you recommended them on SheRecs and inviting them to opt-out of our platform.

We will never share your full RecList in its entirety (even with your friends) or use your content for advertising without your consent.

9. Our Platform

SheRecs owns the logo, design, name, code, and software. Please don't copy, scrape, or misuse our platform. Because we're in beta, features may change–in fact we hope to be evolving quickly. But we'll always communicate major updates clearly.

10. Safety and Common Sense

Recommendations found on SheRecs represent the subjective opinions of the subscribers who offered the recommendations. They are intended to help you source care and should not be your only research or substitute sound judgment. Use reasonable judgement in deciding how to proceed with the service providers. SheRecs does not guarantee every outcome or experience.

SheRecs is provided "as is." To the extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for user or recommended provider actions.

11. Ending or Changing Your Use

You can delete your account anytime. When you do, your data and RecList will be deleted from our systems within a reasonable period.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, where SheRecs LLC is based.

SheRecs hopes to be growing and evolving quickly, which means some of the policies in this agreement may change. We will update you on major changes to our platform, and we will seek your consent on any necessary updates to this agreement in a timely fashion.
